When traveling to London, one MUST make its way to afternoon tea to experience how it’s ‘really’ suppose to be done. My international traveler friend Terren recommended Claridge’s for the ambiance and for the best sandwiches and pastries in town. So reservations don’t come easy here- so I was online for a month, every morning, trying to reserve my spot. Luckily, someone cancelled and I was in! PHEW!
From the moment you arrive, the lobby is filled with luscious flowers in every corner. The waiters are in white tuxedos bringing tea and plates of food from the moment you take your seat. Instead of having tiers and tiers of platters in front of you (like in LA), they place a mini stand next to you with your teapots on top and plates nicely underneath. Another huge difference is that the sandwiches, scones, and desserts are endless. If you’re still hungry, you can continue to order some more! It’s not likely that you’ll be asking for seconds because after the scones and sandwiches, you barely can take a bite of your dessert (and you don’t want to miss that!)
If you’re traveling to London, I highly recommend Claridge’s for the best afternoon tea experience of your life! Definitely worth it!
